Around 13 years ago we bought an old comma. We didn\u2019t have it very long, about 2 days (lol). Reese was not a fan of the lack of power steering and the headlights been about as bright as candles.<\/p>
But the purchase of that van, started a whole new journey in our lives, and little did we know at the time\u2026 our forever future. We had never heard of van life, we just wanted a way to drive abroad because Reese hated flying.<\/p>
Cut forward a few years, one old motorhome we kept all of a month, an awesome Renault traffic spray painted with fairies, a Mercedes sprinter sprayed with dragons and a modern build Renault\u2026. And we arrive at getting Romany. I might also mention here that after our first ever road trip, been across France, Spain and to Ibiza (with 2 children and ultimately 2 hitchhikers and their 2 dogs), we became quite hardy travellers straight off the bat.<\/p>
Of course we have now travelled many countries across Europe and we have self built 4 vans over the last 13 years or so. And we have learnt a lot about what we are good at and frankly what we\u2019re useless at lol. Planning being a big downfall of our personalities that we seem unable to improve on lol, then again, the lack of this skill has led to many memories\u2026 some terrifying and some hysterical. But those are the best parts of life!<\/p>
If you\u2019ve watched our channel before, you probably know that it\u2019s making those memories stick in my brain, that was the catalyst for our channel. Reese wanted to help me remember, because due to my illnesses, I forget a lot and particularly have increasingly struggled to make new memories. So, Romany Pirates was born.<\/p>
Little did we know, what fun this venture would bring. The laughs, the hair raising moments, sometimes tears (but we keep them to a minimum where ever possible), and how much doing YouTube would push us out of our comfort zones.<\/p>
And there\u2019s been everyone we\u2019ve met on the road and you guys\u2026 our viewers. What an amazing bunch of people you all are. Somehow, we all built a little community together, intent on being real, being honest but also being positive!<\/p>
So when it comes to this brand (our merch\u2019), we wanted it to be in line with who we are. We wanted quality, affordabilty, consideration to the planet and reliability of the organisation. So all things considered, and for quite some time, (basically because we failed miserably at trying to produce and post ourselves), we decided on Teemill. They are a reliable company, often used by other content creators and they fit with our ethics all round. The items are designed by myself and Reese but Teemill will mange your orders for us, from production, to postage and customer service. Theiy are a sustainable brand, the products we have chosen are 100% cotton and organic. They aren\u2019t as affordable as we may have hoped, but something had to give a bit somewhere. So we decided that we would keep costs down by taking very little profit from each item, and we would ultimately rather you get a lasting product that you may need to save a little to get, than it be something that is cheap and won\u2019t last you five minutes. <\/p>
